In the aviation industry, the selling cycle is so long that products are introduced years before they exist. The launch campaign for the GEnx engine was a global multi-media campaign, including a product brochure, advertising, website, and a tradeshow booth at the Paris Air Show featuring a virtual reality theater. The final campaign ran when the engine was powering commercial flights. The marketing was a great success. The GEnx engine is the fastest-selling, high-thrust jet engine in GE Aviation history.
